Go to page 771 in your textbook and read the Bill of Rights (the first 10 amendments).  If you were only allowed to keep one which one would you keep and why?

  1. If I were to keep only one amendment I would choose the 1st one.
To me that is and always will be the most important thanks to that amendment I can practice whatever religion I want without beign told something. I can speak my mind out and say what's right and wrof for me.
And even post anything I want in a newspaper. This is my favorite amendment and this is why I choose it.

  5. I would keep the freedom of speach because that way we could still have our own thoghts and ideas even thuogh eveything else they took away would still lemit what we say and do but at least we would have that and not be like unable to do things freely

  6. i would keep the first ammendment because we the people as the united states citizens have many rights such as the freedom of speech freedom of religion freedom of press and freedom of petition. we have the right to say how we feel.we have should have the right to choose our religion and be able to get our word out through the press, and hear different opinions of what people have to say. im very lucky to be able to have all of these ammendments so i can know that i can live with freedom to do and say what i want, and i have my own rights.

  7. If i were only allowed to choose one of the first ten amendments, it would be the Freedom of Speech. I like to voice my opinion, and this amendment gives you the power to do so. As long as your voice is heard, and you can say whats on your mind. Changes can be made to what is needed to be done. Think of a place where you could not voice your opinion. Life would be intolerable in that situation. Your voice would never be heard, and the changes you want would not be considered since you do not have that right. I like being able to contribute my ideas, and works to the world, and therefore would keep the first amendment.

  8. If i were allowed to keep only one amendment, i will choose the first amendment. In my opinion, this amendment is the most important than the others because its freedom of speech, press assemblyand petition. Which it alloweds us to speak for our selfs and make our own decisions without worring other people holding us back.

  9. Out of all the amendments i would probably keep the first one. The reason i would keep this is because it protects the most important rights we can have. with out them we would be treated like nothing.

  10. The one amendment i would keep is the first amendment. the first amendment covers the most important and basic rights. freedom of speech is probably the most underlooked right. being able to say what you please is a great liberty americans have. speech and religion are also very important. but there are other amendments in the bill of rights that are also important.

The one amendment i would keep is the first amendments. Because i would just go crazy if i weren't abel to express my opinion. Also because I wouldn't liked to be controlled by any government that doesn't let me say anything about how we wont like the government. And since we cant talk about how we can change it, we wouldn't be abel to change it.

  12. If i were able to keep one amendment i would say it would be the first one, simply because that is an everyday right we go through. We experience the freedom of speech, a right to trial by jury, and the right to religion. Even thought it may not be possible to overlook these amendments, somehow they take effect in the best way possible.
